Utilities Turn To The Sun

We mentioned it before: coal is threatened not only by natural gas, but moreso by solar power. Coal utilities are turning to innovative uses of solar power, such as leasing commercial rooftops on which to install solar power panels. As time goes on, more and more electric utilities will be forced to face the facts that alternative energy is the wave of the future and that old fossil fuel plants will become an increasing drag on profits as the price of fossil fuel becomes an impediment to containing rising costs.

Remember, most of the cost of long term operations in a solar power plant are up-front costs. Running costs are minor compared to fossil fuel plants. The problems of Global Warming will be solved by shutting down (and not building) fossil fuel plants in the future.
