|It's good news or bad news, depending upon your perspective.
Professor Steven Sherwood, at the University of New South Wales says in an article in The Guardian that unless emissions of greenhouse gases were cut, the planet would heat up by a minimum of 4°C (7.2°F) by 2100, twice the level the world's governments deem dangerous.
Well, while most of our planet's lifeforms will die off, that news has a silver lining. Most of the poor will die off first, while the fat-cats will survive in underground bunkers when the weather gets too bad to live on the surface. The silver lining being that we don't have to worry about overpopulation wiping out the human race.
What shall we call the fat-cats then? Maybe we can call them morlocks after H.G. Wells classic The Time Machine.
